Julia Cama is an actress, vocalist, and performer based in New Jersey and New York. She is a rising junior Musical Theater Major at LIU Post, and is happy you took the time to check out her website! She began performing in theatre productions in her small town in NJ at an early age, and has performed in over twenty shows. Most recently she originated the role of Luanne in Feels Like The First Time - The Foreigner Musical, directed by Adam Pascal, as part of The Tilles Center’s New Works Initiative.
Some of her favorite theatrical credits include, but are not limited to, Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins, Fairy Godmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bea in Something Rotten! And Antonio in Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Julia is also a seasoned color guard performer, with three years of high school competition marching band under her belt, and one year of collegiate flag tossing at LIU Post.
In 2024, Julia was awarded the Best Female Identified Lead in a Musical from the Bergen Performing Arts Center for her performance as Mary Poppins. As a vocalist, Julia has performed a range of musical genres including opera, rock, pop, country/folk, choral and jazz. She has won several local and state awards for her jazz vocals.
On a personal note, Julia loves to spend time with her three siblings and her loving, supportive parents. She works as a camp counselor, loves to mentor kids, and has a small tailoring business, doing alterations for people in her hometown. She also loves to read, write, play guitar, paint, and bake. She believes that getting to know a person personally is a major step in wanting to hire someone professionally!
Julia has performed at community events, banquets, fundraisers, and galas, and is excited to expand her range of performing experiences, hoping to bridge into vocals for any and all types of events, as well as new experimental theatrical roles! Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Lots of love,
Julia Cama
